碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 資訊科學與工程學系 === 96 === Bit-torrent is the most popular Peer-to-Peer software because of its efficiency for distributing files. However, Bit-Torrent file sharing is infamous for copyright infringement, making the establishment of rights management technologies an urgent need. In this paper, we propose a Digital Rights Management (DRM) mechanism to protect the copyright in Bit-Torrent. It will be a novel business model of DRM system. It enables large-scale distribution of copyrighted digital content in P2P network. Anyone can be the content provider to distribute his creation efficiently and securely. In the past years there has been an increasing interest in developing DRM system. The purpose of DRM is to protect the copyrights of content provider and to enable only designated user to access digital contents. However, they have a tendency to go against complex and confusing limitations. Consumers want to share contents without hassle and with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we integrate DRM systems into digital home environment to permit content sharing between home devices. Furthermore, we design a light weight DRM for low computation power of consumer electronics in digital home environment. Our propose is not only conform consumer’s fair-use right, but also is not as the previous design with much limits against the digital content. Moreover, it’s more reasonable and getting acceptable.
