Summary: | 博士 === 國立中興大學 === 園藝學系所 === 96 === The experiment was conducted to determined cover materials on the growth and physiology of “Taoyuan no. 2” leafy sweetpotao (Impoea batatas (L.)Lam.) in a 4-experiments from Jun to Oct in 2004. Cover materials were included polyethylene woven fabric nets of black color, polyester fiber sheets of red, plum, blue and yellow color, polyethylene nets of green and white color, and polyethylene film, uncovering for control. Measurements of spectral properties, photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) and micro-environmental temperature under cover materials were made in the 4-experiments. In growing period July, leaf, petiole, stem, shoot, root and plant fresh and dry weight of plants grown under red sheet were higher than those of plants grown under blue sheet. Leaf area, stem height, internode length, leave number and root length of plants grown under red sheet were also higher than those of plants grown under blue sheet. In growing period June, relative fresh and dry matter accumulation into leaves was increased in plants grown under blue sheets while it was reduced in stems and roots. In growing period June, leafs grown in four color sheets, red, plum, blue and yellow, there was no significant between treatments in chlorophyll a, b, a+b and a/b. However, grown in blue sheets had a higher chlorophyll b 653 nm content than other colorful sheets. In July, grown in red sheet had a higher content than other colorful sheets. In June, grown in blue sheet had a lower Xanthophyll 444.5、467and 470 nm than other colorful sheets. Leaf grown in red sheet had a higher photosynthesis than other colorful sheets in June, July and August. In growing period June, light transmitted through red sheets resulted in increased leaf and stem soluble sugar, such as sucrose, glucose and fructose, blue in increased root sucrose. However, the degree of response varied with growing season. In growing period July, the accumulation of soluble sugar was alternative in plants by June.
