Description
Summary:碩士 === 明志科技大學 === 工業管理研究所 === 96 === According to the statistics released in 2008 by Division of Demographics of Taiwan, the birthrate in Taiwan continued to decline. By 2007, the number of newborns has dropped from 305,312 in 2000 to 204,414 – a decline of more than 30%. More interestingly, the number of kindergarten organizations has increased during the same period. Thus, the competition among this industry will grow fiercer in the near future. This research looks into how these kindergarten organizations may determine the strategic positioning to create competitive advantages for themselves. This research administers questionnaires to 380 kindergarten organizations in Northern Miaoli, controlling for organization’s age, size, cost, type, region, and capitalization to study the effect of strategic positioning and human capital on organization’s business performance. The results show that, (1) the higher the customer involvement, the better the business performance; (2) the higher the differentiation, the higher the business performance; (3) the higher the human capital, the higher the business performance; and (4) the interaction between the level of diversification and human capital has significant negative effect on business performance.
