An appropriate sampling time must be chosen to discretize a continuous-time system. The main topics of this thesis are how to choose the sampling time and what the effects of the sampling time on the discrete-time system are. The basic configuration of the continuous-time system to be discretized is prestablished by using state feedback. Then, the system is discretized without changing the state feedback gain. The selection of the sampling time to preserve the stability of the system and the approximation of the responses between the continuous-time system and the discrete-time version are discussed.
