Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 教育研究所碩士班 === 96 === The main purpose of this research is to explore the influences of different family structure, single-parent family and intact family, in adolescents’ behavior and attitude toward the opposite sex in terms of considering parents’ marital relationship and parent-child interaction.
Five adolescents who match the research conditions are the subjects of the study. The qualitative research method is adopted to describe, interpret, and analyze the interview content. Synthesize the results of analyzed datum, the findings of this study are listed as follows:
1. Perception of parents’ marital relationship and parent-child interaction.
The adolescents virtually have more memories about parents’ conflicts and separates than harmony without respect to different family structure. Besides, they all have more and better interactions with main caretakers.
2. Show of love attitude
Passionate love: The adolescents all have agreeable attitude toward cohabitation and the sex experience before marriage. Game-playing love: The adolescents all emphasize “only one lover in the romantic relationship” and ”administer love carefully”. Friend love: The adolescents tend to the love is like a friendship and emphasize mutual esteem and trust. Shopping-list love: The decision toward the opposite sex of the adolescents depends on the feeling or someone’s courtship. Depend love: The female adolescents in single-parent family feel more concerned about the disregard of her boyfriend, and often bring the conflict. Selfless love: The male adolescents have more dedicative spirit for love than female.
3. The influence of considering parents’ marital relationship and parent-child interaction.
The adolescents’ love differs from their parents. They tend to communicate rationally, and they choose the opposite sex by their feeling, not as their parents.
The above research results may offer some suggestions for adolescence, parents, school teachers and future research.
