Description
Summary:碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 教育研究所碩士在職專班 === 96 === This paper is based on the concepts of Confucianism and Taoism, along with the current life education scene and a research environment with relevant life education issues. These bases are used to analyze annotations, as well as to explore and prove the necessity of Confucianism and Taoism concepts in the modern science and technology era. The Confucian and Taoist views on the “philosophy of human life” and “human relationships” are distinctly separated in the connotation analysis. Their central concept promotes the integration of the four dimensions in life education, namely: man and nature, man and society, man and other people, man and self. The integration of these four dimensions forms the basis in analyzing and interpreting. On the other hand, the narration adopts the teaching concepts and applications. “Benevolence” lies at the heart of Confucian’s teaching on the philosophy of life. It also promotes the conscious practice of traditional cardinal virtues in human relationships. To help one cultivate these virtues, the teaching method must be active and enthusiastic to the point of influencing the person’s emotions and way of living. On the other hand, the teachings of Taoism are strongly based on the concept of “Tao”. This religious tradition adopts the mystical approach where the attainment of perfection and beauty springs from man and nature, as well as man and human relationships. Summary and Recommendations: Confucianism and Taoism are based on the ideals “benevolence” and “Tao”. The practices of these two religious traditions suit the Chinese people''s cultural background. They have an inspiring and enlightening effect on the educational atmosphere as far as teachers and students are concerned, as well as to just about anyone “with a kind heart”. Finally, the results of this study are recommended as topics for further research in educational modules or by teachers and students in order to come up with more concrete academic intensions that will benefit many people.
