Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 教育研究所碩士班 === 96 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between individual background, computer literacy, school equipment and experiences of and attitudes towards IT-integrated instruction among junior high teachers in Taoyuan County. A questionnaire survey was conducted. A sample of 350 junior high English teachers in Taoyuan County was drawn. The questionnaire comprised 3 parts: individual background, status of implementation of IT-integrated instruction, and attitudes towards IT-integrated instruction. The data (obtained from 297 valid questionnaires) were analyzed by descriptive statistics and multiple regression techniques. The results were listed as follows:
1.The teachers didn’t have abundant experience of integrating information technology into instruction; however, their attitudes towards IT-integrated instruction were positive.
2.Within 3 variables (individual background, computer literacy, and school equipment), the first two variables were significantly correlated with experiences of IT-integrated instruction. They were also significantly correlated with attitudes towards IT-integrated instruction.
3.Within 4 variables(gender, educational level, years of teaching, and types of job), which were included in the individual background variable, educational level and years of teaching were significantly correlated with experiences of IT-integrated instruction. They were also significantly correlated with attitudes towards IT-integrated instruction.
4.Within 3 variables (length of time of using computers, hours for attending workshops, and ability of using computers), which were included in the computer literacy variable, only ability of using computers was significant correlated with experiences of IT-integrated instruction. Regarding attitudes towards IT-integrated instruction, length of time of using computers and ability of using computers were significantly correlated with them.
Based on the results of this study, the researcher drew some conclusions and offered related suggestions for further studies.
