In chapter 2, a coplanar shorted monopole antenna is designed on the FR4 substrate. By adding a shorted strip in the middle of the antenna and right ground, the plane design of the shorted strip could influence the match of this antenna. These features are suitable for 2.4/5 GHz WLAN and 3.5 GHz WiMAX applications. In chapter 3, the antenna is made of copper for ultra-wideband communications. By adjusting the ground plane and gap width, it could be achieved in good impedance match. The best advantage of this UWB antenna is that no matter what I bent the antenna impedance match almost could not change much. In chapter 4, the antenna is fed by microstrip line on the FR4 substrate. By choosing suitable shorted parasitic strip, the bandwidth of the impedance could be operated in UWB system.
