We apply the parallel virtual machine to the discrete wavelet transform in this thesis. Two PCs are made into one PC cluster, and Linux is used for the operating system. Then we can get a high performance computation, and the discrete wavelet transform program is developed with C language at the cluster. The power signals are tested by the proposed method. In order to exhibit the efficiency of this study, we compare the running time of a single PC and a PC cluster.
