Summary: | 碩士 === 開南大學 === 物流與航運管理學系 === 96 === Logistics has been one of the fast growing industry in Taiwan, and at the mean time, the supply of university level graduates can not meet the demand. As a result, most of the new hire in logistics companies have not receive logistics-related knowledge in the university. The aim of this study is to find out the differences between the new hire graduated from logistics and non-logistics departments, also the graduates from national and private universities.
Two dimensions of indicators have been used, the first is professional skills and the other is working attitude. A questionnaire with Likert scale has been designed to measure the performance of new hire in logistics industry. This study has find out the most important items of professional skills and working attitude demand by logistics industry. Further, the performance of the new hires with different background has also been quantified.
One of the most valuable contributions of this study is to find out whether or not, there are competitive advantages to be enjoyed by graduates with logistics background. The logistics related departments could amend their teaching focuses and improve the quality of graduates based on these findings.
