This study adopted case study design to explore the process of vertical and horizontal alignment of strategic human resources management for health care organizations. The target of this study is a regional hospital in Taiwan. Data collection included primary data from in-depth interviews and secondary data from literatures. This research finds that the hospital will implement basic strategy of allocating human resources when it uses analyzer strategy. The human resources architecture differentiates into two strategic business processes which include medical departments and administrative departments. This study integrates the concept of alignment and human resources architecture and proposes the principle of choosing human resource management practices.
