In order to fulfill the reconstruction policies of the national defense, AFMS and AFCS had been merged in 1996 to be AFATS which was also promoted to be AFIT in 2002. As faced with a series of organizatioal changes, perceptions of downsizing and job stress are both correlational with organizational commitment. The objects of this research are the military services in Air Force Institute of Technology. Three scales for Organizational Downsizing, Job Stress and Organizational Commitment are used respectively as research tools for the survey. Based on 210 valid questionnaires, collected data are analyzed by statistics methods, such as descriptive statistics analysis, independent sample t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson''s Correlation and Regression Analysis. The results are found as follows: 1. Personal characteristics have a significant differentiation on organizational downsizing, job stress and organizational commitment. 2. Organizational downsizing is negatively correlated with job stress. 3. Organizational downsizing is postively related with organizational commitment. 4. Job stress is negatively associated with organizational commitment. 5. Organizational downsizing has mediation effect on the relationship between job stress and organizational commitment.
