Summary:碩士 === 玄奘大學 === 宗教學系碩士在職專班 === 96 === This research aims at recollecting the course of Buddhist practice from Zen master, Young-Ming and also elaborates his influence on the post Ming Buddhism that is inspired by his thoughts, ideas and works. At the same token, it interprete and induct the ways that Master Young-Ming had taken in practicing Buddhism; on the other hand, this study also compares the thoughts and practices of Zen master, Zih-Bo, who practice Buddhism in the late Ming Dynasty, with that of Master Young-Ming. The practice of Master Young-Ming may establish an objective for every Buddhist and provide a window of retrospection and access for those prospective Buddhists who are living under the shadow of utilitarian society. The first part of the study of Master Young-Ming expounds the motivation, purpose, area of research and research methods. Secondly, the paper expresses how Master Young-Ming made an unadulterated progress and goal in his lifelong practice; nevertheless, it explores the quality of his ideal and his journey of progress. Furthermore, the study describes the influence of Master Young Ming casted on Zen master, Zih-bo and makes a contrast, analysis in the distinction and similarity between the two masters of Zen and Pure Land practice. Master Young-Ming’s ideas, works, practice method and his influence on the contemporary Buddhists draw the conclusion of this paper. With the anticipation that the study may clarify the true value in the merit-disordered society, it further discusses the contribution, leverage, historical evaluation and position of these two Zen masters, Young-Ming and Zih-Bo on Zen and Pure Land. In light of this study, retrospection and innovative ideas will be emerged among modern individuals and Buddhists.
