The tools with bronze, bronze/iron, and bronze/cobalt powders as a metal matrix were fabricated by the hot press at the different sintering temperature. The experiment results showed that after sliding of 14.5 minutes the tools containing the pocket of diameter of 1.5 mm and depth of 0.5 mm at bronze matrix with the sintering temperature of 700 C, bronze/iron matrix with the sintering temperature of 750 C, and bronze/cobalt matrix with the sintering temperature of 800 C displayed a relatively better diamond retention. However, the tool containing a larger pocket of diameter of 2 mm showed a relatively poorer diamond retention due to diamond deviation on the pocket. In addition, the diamond protrusion on the metal matrix was larger to cause the grit easily to be plunked out. The more diamond retention of the tool displayed a relatively lower diamond wear. When the tools employed the bronze/iron and bronze/cobalt matrix, the resulting matrix wear was a relatively lower to display a better diamond retention. The tools sintered at a higher temperature caused the diamond particles to more easily fracture, thereby producing a larger diamond wear loss. Shenq-Yih Luo 羅勝益 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 98 zh-TW
