Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 教育領導與發展研究所 === 96 === The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the principals’ servant-leadership and teachers’ organizational commitment. Questionnaire survey was used in this research, and the targets were the teachers in the public elementary schools in Taipei city. With stratified random sampling, 435 copies of questionnaire were distributed, and 372 copies were recollected, the availability was 86.82%. The collected data was analyzed with frequency analysis, percentage mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and got the following conclusions: 1) To the survey targets, the characteristic of Taipei City elementary school principals’ servant-leadership behavior being best aware of was “persuasion”; the characteristic of Taipei City elementary school teachers’ organizational commitment behavior being best aware of was ”the willing of hard work”. 2) There was difference in teachers’ awareness of the principals’ servant-leadership behaviors due to the differences of the tenure of the principals in Taipei City. 3) There was difference in teachers’ awareness toward the overall servant leadership behaviors in elementary schools due to age, present position, seniority and the school scale. 4) There was difference in teachers’ awareness toward the overall teachers’ organizational commitment behaviors in elementary schools due to age, present position, seniority. 5) There was highly-positive correlation between the characteristics of the principals’ servant-leadership and teachers’ organizational commitment. According to the results of this research, suggestions were made as following, and as a reference to the educational administrations, principals and those who would like to do further study in this topic: 1) Workshop of servant-leadership should be held, so that the concept of “serve first then lead” could be imprinted. And the idea and method of “servant-leadership” should be promoted as to be a help for training more excellent educational leaders which could profit the development of teachers’ organizational commitment. 2) Principal should apply five aspects of servant leadership behaviors in elementary schools to promote teachers’ organizational commitment. 3) Principal should apply “persuasion” of principals’ servant-leadership behavior in the administrative affairs, which can reconcile misunderstanding and disputes among the teachers and attain the unanimity. 4) For future study, the researcher can include the private school in the sample, in order to understand the application of servant leadership behaviors in the private school.
