Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 教育領導與發展研究所 === 96 === The main purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between the coachs’ paternalistic leadership and the group cohesion. The differences between the demographic variables and coachs’ paternalistic leadership as well as the group cohesion were analyzed. Furthermore, it tried to explore the relationships between coachs’ paternalistic leadership and group cohesion. Finally, this study tried to verify these factors for prediction. This study used questionnaire survey as main research method. The subjects were the players in elementary school basketball tournament in 2007-8 academic year in Taipei County. 633 formal questionnaires were released, among which 568 were taken back with valid 550. The response rate was 87%. Data were analyzed with SPSS by frequency distribution, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, simple liner regression and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The major findings were as follows: 1.The coachs’ paternalistic leadership of elementary schools in Taipei County could be categorized as medium level, the highest is “moral ”, the second is “ benevolence ”, while the lowest is “authoritarianism”. 2.The basketball players’ group cohesion of elementary schools in Taipei County could be categorized as high level, the highest is “ team adaptation ”, while the lowest is “ interpersonal affiliation ”. 3.Different players’ background variables did impose partially significant difference upon coachs’ paternalistic leadership. 4.Different players’ background variables did impose almost significant difference upon group cohesion. 5.There was a significant positive correlation between “coachs’ paternalistic leadership” and “group cohesion”. 6.The coachs’ paternalistic leadership is notably predictable to the group cohesion. On the whole, “moral” hold the highest predictable ability on group cohesion. Based on the results and findings of the research, some suggestions for administration of physical education, coaches in elementary school and future study were proposed.
