| Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 應用數學所 === 96 === This report discusses the fairness and betting strategy of Taiwan Lottery. Study shows that the lottery drawing is fair. In addition, this research has investigated three different betting strategies to bet and compare with historical statistics. These three betting strategies are random-number drawing, tracing the history of certain particular numbers, and the observation of the statistics of smallest and largest numbers after sorting. The results of the betting experiments show that long-term betting always ends up losing no matter what strategy you choose. Among them, the random number betting loses most. However, for short-term betting, only strategy 3 has chances of winning. The conclusion of this research is that betting strategy counts for short-term betting, but no betting strategy will win for long-term betting.
