Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 資訊電機工程碩士在職專班 === 96 === Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology has gradually matured. Still, it has some shortages. Another VPN approach, called Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS), which uses layer-two technology to free routing control from service providers and to reduce the cost of purchasing network equipment, has gained lots of attention. Due to the difference of transmitted data types in VPLS applications, the traditional RSVP (Resource Reservation Protocol) approach can no longer satisfy the need of Quality of Services (QoS) control. In this paper, we propose an effective feedback control mechanism in which the Differentiated Services Codes Point (DSCP) and Traffic Engineering (TE) techniques are used to control the QoS. Our experiments showed that with less work load of routers and improvement of load sharing inside a VPLS network, our approach achieved the Quality of Services for various Services Level Agreements (SLAs).
