In this research, the starch and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) were mixed to spin starch/PVA blend fiber. It’s hard to spin starch and PVA fiber by melt spinning because the melting temperature is close to the degradation temperature and the melt-mobility is not enough to spin fiber. In order to solve these problems, starch and PVA are plasticized by glycerin to reduce the melting temperature and increase the mobility. In addition, starch is degraded by amylase to increase spinning property. In the research, these samples were analyzed by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA) to find the best spinning condition. After melt spinning fiber, physical properties of the blend fiber were analyzed by tensile stress and water solubility. After starch and PVA are plasticized and degraded, the melting temperature of starch and PVA are reduced to 110 ℃, but the degradation temperatures are independent of glycerin plasticization. The spinning properties of starch which was degraded by amylase were increased. Some products which need not high strength are manufactured by blend fiber. And porous fibers are made by controlling the water solubility of pseudo-thermoplastic starch. Chin-An Lin 林清安 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 49 zh-TW
