| Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 風險管理與保險研究所 === 96 === Based on the growth characteristic of crops and the weather situation in Taiwan, this study analyzes temperature weather insurance in terms of policy period, coverage, and premium. Four kinds of crops, pear, tea, strawberry and grape, are examined. According to the minimum growth temperature and loss experiences at the low temperature, we set up the injured temperature. We then calculate the pure premium and the capital reserve required for insurers using MPY method.
The result find that most of the pure premiums for crops we studied are below 3% except strawberry, which was incurred serious loss due to low-temperature in 2005.
