Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士在職專班 === 96 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between the diverse background variables, types of leisure activities, and Internet addiction among college students. Four hundred and sixty-eight (N=468) participants were convenience sampling selected from the college schools in the midland area. The instruments used for this study including “The Questionnaire of Leisure Activity Types” and “Chinese Internet Addiction Scale” were adapted from the literature. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, contingency coefficient, t-test and one-way ANOVA. The major findings of this study are as follows:
The major findings of this study are as follows: (1) The most popular leisure activities, which are shown in their popularity order, are entertaining activities, physical activities, knowledgeable activities, social activities, artistic activities, service activities and religion activities; (2) Concerning about their Internet using behavior, it is found that these college students surf on the Net mostly in their own home and then or School dormitories following; (3) Searching for information, online news and downloading software are the activities that college students usually do on the net; (4) The result obtained from the four-points scale “Chinese Internet Addiction Scale” indicates that college students addiction situation is fine; (5) Significant differences including gender were found associated with the types of leisure activities among college students; (6) Significant differences including gender, colleges and year were found associated with Internet addiction among college students; (7) Significant differences was found between the types of leisure activities and Internet addiction among college students.
