According to "Johari window", there is a part on everyone internally called "Hidden me". And the area which is only known to self but not to others, and is actually controlled by self and can not be easily measured by others. Past research has indicated that self-concealment is being seen as the antonym of self-disclosure and they are often brought up together (Larson& Chastain, 1990). However, Larson & Chastain pointed out that self-concealment was conceptually and empirically distinguished from self-disclosure. The purpose of this article was intended to assess the influence of self-concealment on performance, and to evaluate the interrelationship of Big-five personality traits and relational distance index with self-concealment and performance. The pilot study of the research was carried out among adult students of Ching Yun University. Participants of the actual study came from civil servants of Tao-Yuan County Government. Correlation analysis and regression analysis were the primary statistical procedures used to perform the needed analysis. Findings of the research revealed that personality traits and relational distancing tactics had significant impacts on performance, and there lacked any statistical evidence to support the relationship between self-concealment and performance. Three of the big five personality factors (self-discipline, thinking & genial) and the first factor of the relational distance, unfriendly, were found to be good predictor of contexture performance. Results of the analyses also showed that task performance could be predicted by the factors of thinking and self-discipline. The present research was intended to shed lights on the issue of self-concealment and its relationship with performance. Ti Hsu 徐悌 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 87 zh-TW |

碩士 === 清雲科技大學 === 經營管理研究所 === 96 === Literature review on Global leadership and the organization behavior efficiency (GLOBE) shows the Chinese has been considered as a group of people who has a high group consciousness and longer power distance, and regarded as conservative, cautious and passive in their interpersonal relationship.
