These nanocomposites were cut into ultra-thin sections with a thickness of about 60 to 80 nm by an ultra-microtome. Several consecutive sections were collected on a copper grid. The state of dispersion of clays in polymer matrix was investigated with TEM. The factors affecting the dispersion of clays were discussed based on the TEM and XRD results.
