Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 化學工程研究所 === 96 === This study examines the effect of aqueous organic solvents on the changes of membrane morphology and membrane permeability during the pretreatment process of waste solvent filtration in order to provide the criteria of membrane selection for end user. Two types of fluoropolymer microfiltration membranes expended poly(tetraflouroethylene) (ePTFE) and poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) with good chemical resistance were adopted for this study. Dead-end filtration experiments were conducted with aqueous organic solvents containing SiO2 particles. Density and viscosity of various concentrations of aqueous organic solvents were measured before each filtration tests. The membrane properties of pore size and pore size distribution, surface contact angle, surface charge were measure for each membrane under various solution conditions. Results showed that the increase of water contain will cause swelling of membrane materials and resulted in a decrease of pore size. This change of membrane morphology caused by aqueous organic solvent resulted in a drastic change of filtration behavior to each membranes under various operation conditions.
