Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 應用數學學系(所) === 96 === The main purpose of this study was to explore the relationships among juvenile delinquent's attachment, social-interest, and life-adjustment. The participants were 260 students from Chengjheng high school in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
The data were collected by means of questionnaires, and the employed instruments comprised Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (Chinese version), Inventory of Social-Interest, and Inventory of Life-Adjustment. The applied analysis methods included descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlations. The main findings in this study were as follows :
1. The juvenile delinquents’ birth order, population of family, and socioeconomic status (SES) was not related to their attachment and social-interest.
2. The juvenile delinquents’ birth order and population of family was related to their adjustment. But the juvenile delinquents’ socioeconomic status (SES) was not related to their adjustment.
3. The juvenile delinquents’ attachment was positively related to their adjustment, and their attachment toward mother had the strongest relation to their adjustment.
4. The juvenile delinquents’ social interest was positively related to their adjustment.
5. The juvenile delinquents’ attachment and social interest had the highest correlation; the second is the juvenile delinquents’ social interest and their adjustment ; final is the juvenile delinquents’ attachment and their adjustment.
Finally, after discussion, some suggestions were proposed for parents, teachers, educational authorities, and further studies.
