The purpose of this study is to discuss whether the child rearing of junior high school students can predict their peer relationships. This study has chosen all 555 students of Hsinchu County Hukou High School (Affiliated Junior High School) to be the subjects, and has given them questionnaires to fill out. The data collected has been tested using statistical methods such as Chi-square test, MANOVA, T-Test, ANOVA, Product-moment correlation、Canonical correlation and Multiple stepwise regression analysis. The findings of this study have been concluded, and hopefully the study can provide reference for family education, children's counseling and further studies.
A. Birth Order and Child Rearing vs Peer Relationship (friendship)
According to the analysis results, if mothers tend to be more democratic and open when rearing children, female 9th graders are closer with peers comparing with all the other students.
B. Birth Order and Child Rearing vs Peer Relationship (co-relationship)
According to the analysis results, if fathers tend to be more democratic and open when rearing children, female 9th graders interact with peers more frequently comparing with all the other students.
C. Birth Order and Child Rearing vs Peer Relationship (social skills)
According to the analysis results, if fathers tend to be more loose while mothers are more loose/authoritarian when rearing children, student have more trouble socializing, and sometimes do not know how to interact with peers.
D. Birth Order and Child Rearing vs Peer Relationship (social anxiety)
According to the analysis results, if fathers tend to be more loose while mothers are more authoritarian when rearing children, student tend to be more unease interacting with peers.
