Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 機械工程學系碩士班 === 96 === The static tensile behaviors for the carbon nanotube (CNT)/ epoxy composites were experimentally analyzed in this study. The raw CNTs, nitric acid purified CNTs, and TETA modified CNTs were employed in the composites to study the effect of the chemical modification on the static mechanical properties. Furthermore, the effect of the contents of CNTs on the static strength of the composites was also investigated in this study. Due to the viscoelastic property of the epoxy matrix, the influence of the strain rates employed in the tensile tests was studied in the study. Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometer(FT-IR) and High resolution X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometer(XPS) were utilized to identify the function in the CNTs to verify the performance of the chemical modifications. The effect of the contents of CNTs on the electrical resistance of composite specimens was experimentally examined. Moreover, the effects of the experimental variables on the static mechanical properties, such as tensile strengths, Young’s modulus, fracture ductility were discussed in detail herein to provide knowledge in design of this composites.
