Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華技術學院 === 土木防災工程研究所 === 96 === Isolated structure has been widely implemented in seismic resistant design. In this research, a nonlinear time history analysis of a six-story isolated structure and a six-story non-isolated structure is performed with the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake and the 2002 Huolian earthquake. The input ground accelerations with various site soil conditions are accounted for the variation due to near fault earthquakes and far field earthquakes, and the discrepancy between stiff sites, medium sites and soft sites are also identified. In addition, the different source mechanism of earthquakes, the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake and the 2002 Huolian earthquake, leading to the significant different responses in Taipei basin are also investigated. Two main objectives in this research are achieved. One objective is to develop optimal design plots on the various yielding strength of isolated bearing related to the corresponding responses of the maximum displacements of foundations, the maximum drift ratio of buildings, input peak ground acceleration and specified damage states. These charts are feasible to perform an optimal preliminary design to the similar isolated structures with various site soil conditions, PGA, and damage states. The other objective is to construct fragility curves of isolated and non-isolated buildings. The fragility curves of buildings can be implemented to mitigate the seismic hazards.
