In originally, the technology is developed for some patients such as brainstem stroke, brain spinal cord injury, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and is a communication system that that does not depend on the brain’s normal output pathways of peripheral nerves and muscles. Because of the BCI developing, the BCI system is not only for the patients but also for the population. Also, development of BCI systems for consumers is an interesting topic. In this research, a signal processing-based technique for Brain Computer Interface (BCI) system with the applications to automated character recognition is developed. The task of character recognition based on the use of P300 evoked potential, and is implemented on BCI2000 system which offers from Wadsworth Center in New York. The performance evaluated using the database which provide by the BCI competition 2003 produce perfect recognition accuracy, 100%. S. W. Chen 陳思文 2008 學位論文 ; thesis 63
