Summary: | 碩士 === 長庚大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 96 === Biotechnology industry is a star industry of the 21st century, in which, the animal vaccine industry is becoming an important developing field of the biotech industry along with the growth of the global shared human-animal diseases, the food security requests and the grain demands. This research aims at the native enterprises’ competitive strategies and sums up integrated conclusions, and proposes some concrete suggestions to offer the animal vaccine manufacturers and government for establishing competitive strategies and development policies.
This research probes into the correlation literatures and takes their study and analysis as the rationale, and carries out the data collection and analysis of global animal health care market leading manufacturers and whose productivities, the supply and demand in this market and their market chance. Based on these analysis results the competition analysis is carried on to figure out the advantages and disadvantages of Taiwanese entrepreneurs and the opportunities and challenges they are facing. By way of the interviews with experts further, the composition factors in each of the 4 quadrants are revised to compose a SWOT competition analysis.
The findings of this research show that domestic R&D institutes possess strong capacity in animal vaccine technology development, only the scales of the domestic animal vaccine corporations are so small that they hardly offer independent R&D. If they want to go towards the world market, they need to improve their competence of quality control and market development. Therefore, the integration of the R&D resources from academic and research institutes is recommend to enhance their technology competence and to implement the Industry Vertical Integration for forming the value chain consisting of R&D, application development and commercialized product development. Furthermore, they need to procure the cooperation chances with international corporations for leveraging the cooperation experience in developing their human resources conforming to international standards. In terms of our government’s support, the completeness of the concerned regulations, industrial planning and developing should be speeded up in policy-making and response-taking, to help the industry with catching up to the world development under such pressure of global competitions
