Description
Summary:碩士 === 長庚大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 96 === Laboratory Information System (LIS) is a very important component among all the information system in clinical pathology. The implementation of LIS can help to link to the main server for bi-directional database exchange and remote laboratory quality assessment (EQA) for data transfer and information inspection to provide highly efficient, reliable, and accurate clinical diagnosis. Nevertheless, it is only confined to some basic functions such as medically instructed input and charge confirmation, clinical diagnosis report, bi-directional database exchange, print of worksheet, transmission of report, and worksheet management. The LIS still can not be incorporated into the prevailing enterprise resource planning system (ERP) in a way that integrates the information of financial accounting, managerial accounting, production planning, material management, and market distribution. As a consequence, all this operational information can not be synchronized to support decision making and enhance the efficiency of the corporate resource management. With the combination of financial accounting statistics, my research of LIS is intended to generate the following results: 1. process the needed reagents volume for a single sample, 2. utility of the reagent kit, 3. operational cost of each item, 4. the cost for processing a single sample, etc. With the generation of the aforementioned data, the core spirit of ERP can be incorporated. Clinical laboratory’s marketing, finance, accounting, production, logistics, human resource etc. can be enhanced to be real-time, multifaceted, and flexible that lowers down procurement cost, manages inventory more efficiently, and shortens pre-diagnosis lead time, and eventually improves overall cash flow. The ERP-LIS correlation chart will also be presented as reference for later improvement of the LIS software development.
