Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 運動與休閒教育所 === 96 === The main purpose of the study was to explore the relationships among demographic variables, emotional intelligence (EQ) and Physical Fitness Quotient (PFQ)of adolescent track and field athletes. The participants included 238 adolescent track and field athletes (129 males and 109 females) who are coming from ten junior high schools in Yunlin County, Jiayi County, Jiayi City, Tainan County,and Tainan City.The data were collected by means of questionnaires, including Inventory of Adolescent Emotional Intelligence and Physical Fitness Quotient test. The statistics adopt several methods included Descriptive Statistics, t-test, MANOVA, Cannon Correlation Analysis, Multiple Regression and Discriminate Analysis. The main conclusions of this study were as follows:
1、With regard to gender, female athletes had higher scores in emotional intelligence than male athletes.Furthermore, there were no difference between female athletes and male athletes in the score of physical fitness quotient.
2、With regard to grades, third graders at junior high schools scored higher than the 1st snd 2nd graders in emotional intelligence and physical fitness quotient.
3、With regard to sport performances, the highest class of athletes scored
in emotional intelligence and physical fitness quotient higher than other
classes.
4、There were relationships among, weekly training quantity, emotional intelligence scores and physical fitness quotient scores.
5、There was a association emotional intelligence scores and physical fitness quotient scores in Adolescent track and field athletes.
6、Adolescent track and field athletes’ sport performances can be predicted by emotional intelligence scores and physical fitness quotient scores.
7、Adolescent track and field athletes’ sport performances could be effectively classified by their emotional intelligence scores and physical fitness quotient scores.
Finally, after discussion, some suggestions were proposed for teachers, educational authorities, and further studies.
