Such services exploit the joint presence information of a consumer, i.e. SIP entity requesting a service, and a vendor, i.e. SIP entity providing a service. This presence information is distributed across multiple presence servers. We propose a RLS-based Resource-Aware Query Routing scheme, called RLS-based RAQR, where each server obtains its neighbors’ utilization states notified from RLS. Compared to the RAQR without RLS, our RLS-based RAQR has better matches (achieve a 45% reduction in delay misses), thus demonstrating its suitability for the vicinity-based matching semantics required in Live Resource Finder pplication. Besides, our scheme is capable of minimizing message traffic between local presence server and its neighboring presence servers while maintaining full responsiveness for the resource subscribing management.
