Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 化學所 === 96 === In this presentation, we report the thermal decomposition of organometallic compounds to synthesize metal nanoparticles. Tetrakis(tri- phenyl phosphine)nickel(0) and Tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) were chosen as organometallic precursors for producing nickel and palladium nanoparticles, respectively. The precursor together with different surfactants, like DTAB, MTAB, CTAB, OTAB, TOPO, TOP, TPP, HDA and SDS were dissolved in organic solvent. The solution was then refluxed to give the metal nanoparticles. Experiments involved in the variation of surfactant, ratio of precursor and surfactant, reaction time, temperature, concentration and solvent have been carried out to study the effects on the formation of nickel and palladium nanoparticles.
In structural characterization, we examined the shape and the size of nanoparticles by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and used energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), electron diffraction (ED) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), to identify the composition of nanoparticles, and used vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and superconducting quantum interference devicer (SQUID), to explore the magnetism of nickel nanoparticles.
