Summary: | 碩士 === 元智大學 === 企業管理學系 === 95 === RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) has been discussed worldwide especially after the US Department of Defense and Wal-Mart greatly introduced this technology. The advantages of RFID for supply chain include reducing operation cost, increasing business process efficiency, decreasing defect rates, eliminating product missing and improving service quality. However, before adopting new technology, most of people always consider whether the technology has been developed well, how the compatibility with original system or if there are any other risks. Many enterprises still hesitate to adopt RFID because of huge cost, difficulty of readability and uncertain benefits.
Adopting RFID by enterprises will be a trend in the future. The speed and range of the RFID adoption will be affected by the environment, technology and organization, etc. This research discusses the dynamic model of RFID adoption by what enterprises consider to adopt new technology and viewpoints of diffusion of innovation and emergence of dominance. Because the effect factors of RFID adoption are wide, immature, dynamic, and non-linear system, this research used system dynamics approach, tried to describe the complex relation of factors, displayed the complex dynamic behavior of RFID adoption through constructing and simulating model, and helped to analyze the dynamic model of RFID adopted by enterprises.
From the simulated results, we find out that RFID will continue developing. Diffusion of market and the factors of price, technology, environment, and organization will make the volume of purchasing RFID increase gradually, reach peak after ten years and will be mature step of its life cycle. We can observe how RFID will develop in the future and imitation coefficient, law pushing, system compatibility, patents, and the manager perceiving have significant influence on RFID development. Improving above findings can make RFID industry develop rapidly and widely. Besides, enterprises can refer how RFID developed and evaluate if they will adopt RFID in order to cooperate industry chain and increase competitive advantage.
