Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 工業工程與管理學系 === 95 === In this thesis, we discuss the replacement policy of a multi-component system, under the situation of opportunity replacement and numbers of repair. Two types of failures of each component are defined, type I failures and type II failures. The type I failure is a minor failure and is restored by a repair. The type II failure is a catastrophic failure and is removed by a replacement. When a type II failure occurs, the system will be broken down, and all other components are replaced. In this study, there are three situations of replacement in a multi-component system assumed. The first situation is when a component occurs the first type II failure; the second one is when a component occurs the nth type I failure; and the last one is when any one component either a type I failure or a type II failure happens to the system after a period of time T. The system will be replaced while any one of above three situations occurs. Our purpose is to obtain the optimal replace time and the optimal numbers of repair based on the minimum of the expected long-run average cost per unit time. A numerical study of a 2-component system is discussed at the end by utilizing Visual Fortran programming language to solve the equation.
