Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 資訊管理系碩士班 === 95 === The main purpose of this study is to carry out an experiment in mathematics towards higher graders in elementary school, based on an interactive teaching system. By means of this research, we expect to establish a feasible teaching model.
We divide into two groups, which aim at pupils from the grade six of an elementary school in Yunlin County. One is called “The experimental group” (Class A, 35 pupils) carrying out an interactive teaching system, and the other is called “The comparative group” (Class B, 35 pupils) carrying out the traditional teaching way. We make use of the interactive teaching system to apply five teaching units. According to this research result, it obviously shows that an interactive teaching system in mathematics towards higher graders is much better than the traditional teaching way. Here are five findings about the interactive teaching system, which is aimed towards higher graders in elementary school:
1. Due to the active nature of this method, the students are required to pay more attention in class, enabling them to learn the materials more effectively. In addition, the teacher can better utilize his/her time management skills
2. The teacher can obtain responses from students much faster through this system. The system also allows the teacher to better understand the students learning abilities, and adjust his/her teaching strategy accordingly. By changing teaching methods, the teacher can improve the motivation of the students.
3. Through the interactive teaching method, we found that students were keener to participate in oral discussion, thereby improving their confidence when expressing opinions in class
4. We discovered that we could avoid confusion among students by focusing on one learning objective per class, as opposed to many, which could be a hindrance to learning.
5. The teaching method allows the students to learn more effectively and efficiently. However, those who do not find benefit in the system must still try their best to learn, so as not to fall behind in their studies.
The purpose of this study is to design an appropriate teaching method that will benefit both teachers and higher graders in elementary school. We must discover the possible benefits of the system, and keep our findings for future reference.
