Description
Summary:碩士 === 台北巿立體育學院 === 運動科學研究所 === 95 === Abstract The purpose of the study was to investigate types of participation motivation among national-level athletes in competitive sports by utilizing self-determination theory as a theoretical framework. A sample of 195 National-level athletes in National Sports Training Center completed the Sport Motivation Scale to measure participation motivation. The data were analyzed by the descriptive statistics, independent-sample t test and one-way ANOVA. The results showed that, (a) The overall ratings of the types of participation motivation among national-level athletes in competitive sports were extrinsic motivation (M=5.69) >intrinsic motivation (M=5.42) > amotivation (M=3.27). (b) Participation motivation on different national-level athletes was shown significantly different (p<.05). Athletes who took part in World Youth Games were rated higher on intrinsic motivation than those who participated in the Asian Games. (c) The athletes in gymnasium, archery, field and track and wrestling had significantly higher scores on intrinsic motivation than the ones in baseball and soccer. In addition, baseball and soccer athletes had significantly higher scores on extrinsic motivation than the ones in gymnasium, taekwondo and field and track. (d) The athletes trained under 3 years had significantly higher scores on intrinsic motivation than the groups who have been trained more than 6-9 years and 9 years or more. Moreover, the athletes within 6-9 year training had significantly higher scores on extrinsic motivation than those who are under 3 years training.
