Summary: | 碩士 === 臺北巿立體育學院 === 運動科學研究所 === 95 === The research mainly talks about soft tennis players’ perception of coaches’ leadership behaviors and the player’s satisfactions in the middle school. Through this case, not only the coaches can realize their own leadership behaviors and the player’s satisfactions, but also the effectiveness of leadership and training can be improved. The subjects are 29 teams of totally 274 people in the middle school from the 2006 Academic Year Soft Tennis Contests (17 teams from junior high school, and 12 teams from senior high school), and the survey is conducted through a questionnaire.
According to the data from the questionnaire, using mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation, multi-step-regression analysis, we bring the research into analysis and discussion according to the result. The conclusions are as follow:
(1) The statistical results in the players’ back ground (183 male players and 91 female players in the middle school, 274 people in total) shows that the number of the male players is more than female players. Their ages are between 14-15 years old; their education levels are mainly in junior high school; they players are mostly in defender position; their experiences in the contests of are more 4 years for most of the players, 4-6 years for senior players; and the achievements of them were National High School Athletic Games. Their best personal records are on the top 4 positions of the national games.
(2) Two results are found in leadership behaviors and satisfactions: (a) For the leadership behaviors, the “training and directing” is the primary indicator, and the “caring behaviors” ranks the second. (b) The player’s satisfactions are shown as upper-middle degrees, which mean the players values satisfactions very much.
(3) Comparison between the difference of coach’s leadership behaviors and the player’s satisfactions among player’s of difference background. (a) The male players’ perception of the coaches’ different attitudes between genders: The indicator of “training and directing” has higher value than satisfactions in the leadership behaviors. Moreover, the players “under 13-year-old” due to lack of experiences, they tends to need a coach of “absolute ruler behavior” to be their guidance. (b) The players are consistent on the recognition and the feeling towards the coaches’ leadership behaviors and the players’ satisfactions. The result is not correlated significantly with the gender, age, education level, position, athletic experiences, high-level experiences, achievements, and their personal best records.
(4) The more the players perceive the coach’s leadership behaviors that appear with “caring behaviors” the more satisfactions that are perceived from the players.
(5) Coaches’ leadership behaviors as a factor that predicts the player’s satisfactions: The “caring behaviors” had the best prediction power. By the way, the variable that has the most prediction power toward the player’s satisfactions is also the “caring behaviors”.
