碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 傳統藝術研究所 === 95 === The purpose of this thesis, “Starting Symbiosis: The Collective Memory and Imagination of Wu-Wei-Gang Ecocommunity,” is to research and probe into how the Eco-community in Wu-Wei-Gang functions with Nature from the angle of “Symbiosis.” The researcher focuses on the course of the development and the interactions of the Wu-Wei-Gang Eco-community to bring up the viewpoint of the record and the explanation for the formation of the community. The researcher analyzes the dialogue and myths between the community construction and the eco-protection in Wu-Wei-Gang. The researcher also sorts out the challenges and the re-imagination of the symbiosis development of the Eco-environment and the village community. Therefore, through the research process, the researcher draws the following conclusions on the premise of the research purpose: 1. The process of developing the Wu-Wei-Gang Eco-community has been through all the interactions, from preservation, separation, assembly, to symbiosis. At first, the residents participated in the development passively. In the end, they are free-will to participate in the development. Through the water bird sanctuary(heritage) and their choice to preserve the community memory, the integration of thoughts of the local people in the whole region helps the Wu-Wei-Gang Eco-community form the field of view for the locals and create the strategy for the community. 2. The principle for the Wu-Wei-Gang Eco-community to develop perpetually is symbiosis. However, they use the theory of conflicts as a measure to put symbiosis into practice. Therefore, symbiosis and conflicts co-exist in the community. The course of the dynamic conflicts between them makes continued progress toward the symbiosis perspective. 3. The practice of the Eco-community and the choice of preserving the community memory gradually developed the local residents'' identification with the place, the Wu-Wei-Gang Eco-community, but the control of the place is emphasized too much. The establishment of the residents'' identification with the Eco-community was ignored. The situation makes the water bird sanctuary become a strategy of the community residents to pursue the local development. This is a potential crisis for the natural environment.
