| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 美術學系美術創作碩士班 === 95 === “A General Review on ‘trans_ports’”, is a narrative article in order to introduce the project started in 2003, a series of black-and-white photographs taken on a train, which is an accidental result of a sudden idea.
First of all, this article recalls the situation that conducted the inspiration. It is the experience of frequent transportation between cities, which is common for inhabitants of metropolis. Secondly, the analysis of the process indicates the relationship between the cause, objects photographed, and the effect, the formation of the image, which is the result of automatic writing because of synchronization of the movement of the train and the camera. Besides, by inductive reasoning, the elements of the picture are divided into two dual categories, in which one is cognition, and the other is surreal. In addition, the discussion of the essence of the photographic material physical reaction will explain the remarkable characteristics of “trans_ports”. In the end, the description of the two kinds of exhibition display formats is to declare different attitudes of viewing this work of art.
The “trans_ports” series is an unexpected photographic image. It is constructed by the past accumulated and the real remained. By these photographs, it presents a journey which is full of “mid”-point instead of destination.
