The special geological conditions of Taiwan are mainly composed of the interstratified beds of sandstone, shale rock and sandstone-shale, and the seismic shock and typhoon that bring along rich rainfall precipitation would erode the soil quality and cause slope disasters. Therefore, we should make further study on the slope or landslides to learn its soil characteristics, and we hope our analysis and research could provide more information for the future disaster prevention and construction. This research took the Taichung landslides of A-bang River of Guguan as the subject, which is the administration area of Forestry Bureau, Council of Agriculture and Executive Yuan for the state forest management and restoration as well as the water catchment area management. Its purpose is to understand the landslides property of "dry river bed," therefore we used the colluvial soil at the landslides field to conduct the soil physics and mechanical testing, and the mechanical testing used the automatic direct shear test to find out the significant cohesiveness c, the interior angle of friction ψ, what’s more we also used Bishop Slices method to conduct the STABL Slope Stability Analysis program to find out the safety factor F. S of the A-bang River landslides. We also used advanced surveying instrument, the 3D Laser Scanner to get the calculated value of the volume and the slope analysis chart, then we analyzed these information to find out the cohesiveness c value of this landslides area and the relational expression between internal angle of friction ψ° and shear stress τ.
