Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 藝術史與藝術評論研究所 === 95 === This research is an exposition of the theory of Walter Benjamin’s aesthetics conception in “The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction” which deduces to be a “Defense Mechanism” in Taiwan Art Criticism. Chapter one introduces how Walter Benjamin’s aesthetics conception influences Taiwan Art Criticism in 1990’s. Chapter two interprets that the conceptions from Benjamin’s “Aura”, Hegel’s “The Death of Art”, Arthur C. Danto’s “ The End of Art”, and Hans Belting’s “The End of Art History” are all considered to be a “Defense Mechanism” which is the way that people attempt to manage when knowing about new things. Chapter three develops how Benjamin’s aesthetics theory performs as a defense mechanism in Taiwan Media Art.
