We use two methods to collect the data. One is to record the distribution of feces between the pavement and the forest which is 3 m away form walking. The other one is to set up the direct pit-fall traps separately and put the dogs’ feces to induce the dung beetles. There are 59 records in total, and they are collected from March 11th, 2006 to April 29th, 2007. In the direct pit fall traps, we observed four kinds of dung beetles, Paragymnopleurus sinuatus, Onthophagus tricornis, Onthophagus trituber, Onthophagus acuticollis. From observing fooding behaviors, we found that Paragymnopleurus sinuatus is roller type, Onthophagus tricornis is tunneler type, Onthophagus trituber and Onthophagus acuticollis are dweller type. Paragymnopleurus sinuatus move the dogs’ feces from pavement to the forest directly. It can reduce the consumption of the feces; avoid the risk from visitors’ interference, and the death of being trampled. Besides, it is also good for the local dominant species. From dung beetles point of view, the dogs’ faces need to be existed undoubtedly. Therefore, we should set up the concepts of the environmental education here and seek the possibility of setting up dogs’toilets in the pavement the dung beetles appear frequently on Xiang Shan.
