The overall adaptation to school and performance in academic achievement, interpersonal relationship, regular adjustment and self-concept of new immigrant children from South-East Asia in Taipei city showed positive outcome. And the performances of academic achievement and regular adjustment were better. 2. But girls performed better than boys in language arts, integrative activities, life curriculum, interpersonal relationship, regular adjustment and self-concept. 3. The new immigrant children from South-East Asia in Taipei city in different grades showed no significant difference in their overall adaptation to school, however, according to academic achievement, sixth graders performed better than forth graders in Health and Physical Education. 4. The level of education that the fathers of new immigrant children from South-East Asia in Taipei city received did not cause significant difference in their children’s overall adaptation to school and every dimension. 5. The level of education that the mothers of new immigrant children from South-East Asia in Taipei city received did not cause significant difference in their children’s overall adaptation to school and every dimension. However, children whose mothers were college (or above) educated performed better in language arts, integrative activities, health and physical education and life curriculum than those children whose mothers were less educated. Finally, based on the study results, suggestions were provided for education related administrations and researchers as references to further improvement of elementary school education or further proceeding of the related study.
