Typical Buildings located in the Los Angeles area were assumed, and the designs were conducted based on 2003 IBC、ASCE 7-02、and ACI 318-02. Then the Structures were analyzed according to the simplified nonlinear analysis specified in ATC-40. Finally, the seismic performance of each building was compared to the “Life Safety” criterion proposed in FEMA-356. Results of the analysis showed that for structures with soft-story, Life safety criterion cannot be reached under the design based earthquake. In addition, the Pure Frame modal also failed to meet the Life safety criterion due to the significant reduction in design earthquake load as permitted by the building code. 黃昭勳 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 114 zh-TW
