It attract people''s attention by a wide margin due to the flat panel display can give light, thin, low consumption, wide visual angle, and full-color ability. It is obvious that in the application of each aspect above, the flat panel display technology has extensive potentiality. In order to improve the approach of the traditional LCD colored image display, which is using color filter, this research is introducing a unique innovative design by using three color bank scrolling backlights. This backlight scrolling is using LEDs to take place of traditional cold cathode fluorescent lamp for fast light change in between Red, Green, and Blue. Images with bank segments can be displaied in terms of RGB colors in time series. According to the human persistence of vision effect, a colorful image can by demonstrated. The advantages of this three color bank scrolling can provide a cost saving because of the color filterless of the display, resolution tripling because of RGB on the same pixel, and rich color saturation because of the selection of dedicate wavelength LEDs color mixture. Practically, this research contents the experiments of three color bank scrolling, the building up of the prototype of scrolling type backlight, optics adjustment for a proper color mixture, and the computer procedure controls software and control hardware. There are three different approaches in terms of the three color bank scrolling backlight which are the prism mixture, RGB mosaic mixture, and the modification of RGB mosaic mixture.
