The SMBIOS is a standard to manage detail hardware specifications to lower cost and speed up developing process. By using the SMBIOS, it is providing not only a standard way to manage all hardware components, but also a easy way for system developers to understand equipments. During the booting process, BIOS initializes all hardware components on the system. After this process, BIOS stores all hardware specifications in the SMBIOS. Therefore, the information of the SMBIOS is able to be retrieved by designated data structures. By using the PnP Functions, the hardware information are extracted from the SMBIOS. In accordance with the designated data structures, the information of each hardware component is reveal. Since the informations of different hardware components are various, different user friendly formats are applied to translate the information for easy reading.
