It collects sentences applying Pi Xu( similies and metaphors) in ancient Chinese literature. This article, besides ‘Introduction’ and ‘Remaining,’ has four main chapters of which the chapter subject is briefly enumerated as following. ‘Introduction’ states the motive for this article, value of study, and precious research achievement. Chapter one, ‘Background and publication of Xu Yuan-Tai,’ describes Xu Yuan-Tai’s personal history, family, friendship circle, deeds, and works. Xu Yuan-Tai is an upright official and displays great talent in military tactics during his tenure of office in Sichuan province. His work, whether of literature or historiography, reveals his emphasis on practical value. Chapter two, ‘publication of “Yu Lin” and its editions,’ not only discusses the motives for ‘Yu Lin,’ but also explores different editions and today’s records of importance. It aims to specify the sequences of editions, and compares the differences among editions. Chapter three, ‘forms and structures of “Yu Lin,”’ focuses on analysis of forms. It probes the change of forms, the forms it adopted, and its special usage in detail. Chapter four, ‘the characteristic and value of ”Yu Lin,”’ examines on how ‘Yu Lin’ is distinct from other Lei Shu in aspects of its special categorization, forms and structures, bibliography, and cited materials. ‘Remaining’ further comments on deficiencies of Yu Lin, and summarizes the whole article as well as discusses future research. none 丁原基 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 190 zh-TW
