Abstract
While viewing the wonders of the Creation, I cannot but notice the beauty of flowers. I sense not only their pretty looks but also their fresh fragrance. From age to age, and from country to country, all kinds of beautiful flowers contribute themselves to people. They sublime people’s souls and refresh their hearts. They are truly a precious and wonderful gift of the nature.
For most people, wherever they live and whatever race and nation they belong to, pursuing a quality life is a worldwide character. Flowers serve this purpose in a quite significant way. Whether they are in vases or in pots, in homes or in fields, flowers faithfully decorate the environment around them, and just by being there, they generate incredible resonance in people’s heart, causing them to feel the love and beauty of the nature. Today, numerous people who live in noisy and dusty cities use various flowers to decorate their dwellings, to mitigate their pressure, and to please their eyes. In this article, I would like to discuss some esthetic experiences and inspiration of thoughts when people encounter with flowers.
This is a century of science and technology. Life has become extremely busy and tough. Those who live in building jungles lack for woods to modulate the needs of their hearts. People’s mood and even their disposition are gradually and unconsciously influenced in a negative way by the harsh environment. That might be the reason why I often miss my old house. I had a very close contact with nature while living there. It gave me much fun and happiness. It was a bungalow with many kinds of different plants. They blossomed one after another under my father’s tender care. Every year they took turn to render lots of different colors and fragrances. They demonstrated such a strong vitality. I can never tell how much my family and I enjoyed them. I have adequate reasons to believe that plants and flowers are the good work of the Creator. Artworks on flowers are the most common element in our daily life. Flowers don’t speak, but they express the inexhaustible life. Their charming appearances show the richness of their life, and many times our esthetic move rest upon their pretty colors. They blossom with their full strength for the continuation of their life. Whether you notice them or not, they are what they are and they do their best to fulfill their predestination. In this process they struggle to exist and yearn to pass on to life. This is what touches me. I feel the connection between them and human beings. From them I come to some realization of the special meaning of life, and thus learn to understand and appreciate different things in life.
Art, especially painting, is a way to express emotions. New ideas come from continuous learning and trying, eventually they find a way for themselves. Painting has developed a multicultural character and many great creations have been produced since the 21st century. I would like to explore the flower features and significances under the beaming of those great painting works, and from them may I recognize the styles and directions of painting creation.
